Mendham is located in the scenic heart of Morris County, the property is near several parks, hiking trails, golf courses such as, Tempe Wick Reserve, India Brook Park, Lewis Morris Park. Sema Properties LLC., is developing Pitney Farm Estates in a similar manner to previous projects, from stem to stern(Through and through). Taking it from undeveloped land, to a custom built home. The approach taken by developer, has insured that the integrity is not lost within the communities. Pitney Farm Estates will host a conventional neighborhood that features a cul-de-sac, wood landscape, and surrounded by the future Mendham Township Historic Park at Pitney Farm. The homes incorporate intricate architectural styling in the floor plans. Finally, each home is tailor made with the finest attention to quality and detail with state-of-the-art name brand products. Sema Properties LLC., has created several communities within Essex, Union, Middlesex, Somerset, and Morris county most recently sold out of Sunnymeade Estates in Hillsborough.

Pitney Farm Estates Surrounded By A New Historic Park

Before there was a State of new Jersey (1776), there was Pitney Farm (1722). Located in Morris County, this farmstead was home to 11 generations of the Pitney family from 1722 to 2013, among them US Supreme Court Justice and 2 NJ Vice Chancellors, the founder of Day Pitney and the National Iron Bank. Its history is the history of our state, from its agricultural beginnings to its gradual turnover to suburban development.

Business Plan

Since the fire destroyed the Main Farmhouse, a new and creative plan was developed that allows community use of Pitney Farm, while respecting neighbors’ concerns and meeting Mendham Township’s fiscal needs.

The Pitney Farm Park and Homestead will be created on the seven acres of designated open space. The oldest surviving section of the farmhouse will be restore using approximately one acre at the center of the Pitney property. The remaining portion of the municipally owned area would then be available for residential use at the discretion of the Mendham Township Committee. The new approach will:

* preserve a piece of Mendham history,

* provide limited community space, and

* protect and promote the public investment in the open space.
